Internship at The Good Roll Foundation, an impactful start to your career.

The Good Roll Foundation is an independent NGO, affiliated with The Good Roll. The Good Roll produces sustainable bamboo toilet paper, while The Good Roll Africa runs our factory for sustainable bamboo pulp in Ghana, in partnership with 3,500 farmers and 150 employees in Ghana.

At The Good Roll Foundation, we believe a toilet is not a luxury, but the foundation of dignity, health, and equal opportunity. Globally, one in three people lacks access to a safe toilet. This causes disease, environmental pollution, unsafe situations, and inequality of opportunity, especially for children and women.

We build sustainable, circular toilets at schools in Ghana. In addition, we facilitate hygiene education and reusable sanitary pads. Our circular sanitation system converts toilet waste into biochar (bio-charcoal), which generates income as sustainable fertilizer and carbon credits. We fully reinvest these proceeds into maintenance and new toilets. Poop turns into power ;-)

Would you like to contribute to the impact of The Good Roll Foundation and help realize our plans? During this internship at our office in Weesp, you will become part of our small, hands-on team and assist with all projects, fundraising, donor acquisition, and communication for The Good Roll Foundation.

• What will you do? Creating content for social media, newsletters, website, and campaign materials.
• Supporting marketing and fundraising activities focused on donations and brand awareness.
• Participating in all projects and maintaining daily contact with our foundation team in Ghana.
• Researching innovations in sanitation, circular waste processing, and relevant partners/cases.
  

Who are we looking for?

• You are enrolled in a relevant higher education program (Marketing, Communications, Commercial Economics, Sustainability, or similar).
• Available 4 - 5 days a week, for at least 5 months.
• Curious, proactive, solution-oriented, and full of energy.
• Hands-on mentality and a true team player with lots of initiative.
• Strong writing skills in Dutch and English.
• Experience with social media and content creation (Canva/Adobe basics) is a plus.
• You believe in our mission and want to help build sustainable impact.

Important

• This position is intended solely as an internship and unfortunately does not offer space for a research-based thesis internship. We naturally understand that a final report, thesis, or other mandatory educational assignment may need to be submitted at the end of the internship period.

What do we offer?

The Good Roll Foundation Project Lead

Als Projectmanager ben jij de operationele ruggengraat van de Foundation, gestationeerd in Ghana. In samenwerking met ons technisch team coördineer je de installatie van droogtoiletten op scholen en ontwikkel je samen met onze technische partner de droogtoiletten door. Samen met ons Wash & Waste-team coördineer je het afvalbeheer en het onderhoud van de toiletten op scholen. Tegelijkertijd ben je de primaire schakel met het hoofdkantoor in Nederland: je zorgt ervoor dat informatie, voortgang en knelpunten tijdig en helder worden gecommuniceerd, en je bent een oplossingsgerichte aanpakker die dingen voor elkaar krijgt.
