About The Good Roll
We are The Good Roll! The high-impact paper company with a mission. While the traditional paper industry still mass-fells forests for something we immediately flush away, we are building a sustainable alternative. How? By creating a fair, circular supply chain that converts bamboo into pulp and paper. We buy bamboo from Ghanaian farmers, process it locally in our own factory in Ghana, and not only turn it into the funnest and softest toilet paper, but also supply raw materials to the international paper trade. Even our waste gains value as biochar, a plant-based soil improver.
We aren't building a better toilet paper brand; we are building a better alternative for the global paper industry. A portion of our profits goes to The Good Roll Foundation. They build safe and clean school toilets in Ghana. This is our Circle of Goodness. From bamboo field to farmer, from pulp to toilet roll. Will you help us build it?!
The Challenge
You are the right hand of our founder, also known as the Chief Rolling Officer. In short, the one who set up The Good Roll. You have various projects in your portfolio that you develop for us. In other words: you are the bridge between the business in the Netherlands and Africa. You enjoy executing multiple projects simultaneously and are good at maintaining an overview. Your main focus is on improving the factory in Ghana, but you also see smaller projects taking place in the Netherlands as a challenge.
A sample of your responsibilities:
- Optimizing the factory in Ghana (with a focus on sustainability);
- Improving products and pricing;
- Managing projects;
- Making processes more sustainable;
- Scheduling and managing appointments;
- Researching trends & hot topics.
Who are you?
- You are currently enrolled in a relevant higher education (HBO/WO) program;
- You have knowledge of project management and an affinity for sustainability;
- Excellent command of the Dutch language, both written and spoken;
- A proactive attitude and a high degree of independence;
- You are patient, flexible, and stress-resistant – shit happens;
- You are available at least 4 days a week at our location in Weesp;
- You are willing to commit 100%;
- You are a social, strong-minded, and humorous person;
- You like to roll up your sleeves and get to work.
What do we offer?
- Money! – internship allowance of €400 per month based on a 5-day work week;

The Good Roll Foundation Project Lead
Als Projectmanager ben jij de operationele ruggengraat van de Foundation, gestationeerd in Ghana. In samenwerking met ons technisch team coördineer je de installatie van droogtoiletten op scholen en ontwikkel je samen met onze technische partner de droogtoiletten door. Samen met ons Wash & Waste-team coördineer je het afvalbeheer en het onderhoud van de toiletten op scholen. Tegelijkertijd ben je de primaire schakel met het hoofdkantoor in Nederland: je zorgt ervoor dat informatie, voortgang en knelpunten tijdig en helder worden gecommuniceerd, en je bent een oplossingsgerichte aanpakker die dingen voor elkaar krijgt.
