About The Good Roll

We are The Good Roll! The high-impact paper company with a mission. While the traditional paper industry continues to mass-fell forests for something we flush away immediately, we are building a sustainable alternative. How? By creating a fair, circular supply chain that turns bamboo into pulp and paper. We purchase bamboo from Ghanaian farmers, process it locally in our own factory in Ghana, and not only turn it into the most fun and softest toilet paper, but also supply raw materials to the international paper trade. Even our waste gains value as biochar, a plant-based soil improver.

We are not just building a better toilet paper brand; we are building a better alternative for the global paper industry. A portion of our profits goes to The Good Roll Foundation, which builds safe and clean school toilets in Ghana. This is our Circle of Goodness. From bamboo field to farmer, from pulp to toilet roll. The Challenge

As a Finance Intern, you ensure that our financial administration runs smoothly. You will support our finance team with a variety of administrative and financial tasks and get the opportunity to learn a great deal within a fast-growing impact organization.
But at The Good Roll, finance is about more than just numbers. You will also help us gain insight into our impact, support audits such as our B Corp certification, and get a behind-the-scenes look at how a sustainable scale-up is managed financially. You love creating order out of chaos, work accurately, and are energized by an organization where making a profit goes hand in hand with doing good.

A sample of your responsibilities:

● Booking and processing invoices;
● Processing receipts, expense claims, and bank transactions;
● Supporting with payments;
● Assisting with monthly and annual reports;
● Assisting with audits, including our B Corp audit;
● Researching subsidies, impact costs, and sustainability-related expenses;
● Identifying areas for improvement in financial processes;
● Collaborating with various teams within The Good Roll.

Who are you?

● You are currently enrolled in an MBO or HBO program in Finance, Business Administration, Finance & Control, or a similar field;
● You have an affinity for numbers and administration;
● You work accurately and love structure;
● You are eager to learn and enjoy taking on new things;
● You have an affinity for sustainability and social impact;
● You are independent, but ask for help when needed;
● You are social, positive, and have a healthy sense of humor;
● You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves;
● You are available for at least 4 days a week.

The Good Roll Foundation Project Lead

Als Projectmanager ben jij de operationele ruggengraat van de Foundation, gestationeerd in Ghana. In samenwerking met ons technisch team coördineer je de installatie van droogtoiletten op scholen en ontwikkel je samen met onze technische partner de droogtoiletten door. Samen met ons Wash & Waste-team coördineer je het afvalbeheer en het onderhoud van de toiletten op scholen. Tegelijkertijd ben je de primaire schakel met het hoofdkantoor in Nederland: je zorgt ervoor dat informatie, voortgang en knelpunten tijdig en helder worden gecommuniceerd, en je bent een oplossingsgerichte aanpakker die dingen voor elkaar krijgt.
