We are excited to announce a momentous collaboration between The Good Roll and Asda in the UK! We have joined forces to extend the range of our 100% natural toilet and kitchen rolls. with the aim of making a lasting impact that goes far beyond your toilet. Asda, one of the UK’s leading retailers, and The Good Roll, renowned for their commitment to safe and clean toilets, have joined forces to bring an environmentally friendly solution to households across the UK. Building on their shared values, Asda and The Good Roll are launching a range of bamboo toilet and kitchen rolls in Asda stores.

From 10th July, you can now find our sustainable bamboo toilet and kitchen rolls naked or in our fully recyclable packaging in 300 Asda stores across the UK. This partnership is an incredible milestone for us as we work towards our shared vision of creating a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.

Sustainable Toilet Paper and Safe Sanitary

We are The Good Roll, makers of sustainable toilet paper, and we believe that clean water and safe sanitation are at the heart of a healthy, happy and dignified life. A life that everyone deserves. That is why we make and sell sustainable bamboo toilet paper, and donate 50% of our net profit to the construction and maintenance of toilet facilities in places where a clean and safe toilet is not guaranteed, for example in Ghana. In addition, we believe it is important to make a positive impact on a local scale, that is why all our good rolls are packaged and packed in social workshops in the Netherlands. By using The Good Roll, you make a positive impact every time nature calls.

Discover the benefits of bamboo toilet paper

The new product line includes bamboo-based toilet and kitchen paper, offering customers a tree-friendly alternative that reduces the impact on the environment. Bamboo toilet paper has many advantages over regular toilet paper made from trees or waste paper. Firstly, bamboo is a type of grass and can grow up to a meter per day. Bamboo matures in about a year, much faster than a regular tree. The average time it takes for a tree to mature is 40 years. Therefore, less surface area is needed to produce bamboo toilet paper compared to regular toilet paper.

Another advantage of bamboo over wood is that bamboo plantations absorb 100 to 400 tons of CO2 per hectare. The bamboo plant does not die after it has been harvested for toilet paper; it grows again. After about a year, the plant is fully grown and can be harvested again.

The Good Roll Foundation

An important aspect of this partnership goes beyond the product itself. Asda and The Good Roll are committed to making a meaningful difference in communities in need. Inspired by The Good Roll’s existing initiative, 50% of the net profit from the sale of these products will be used to build toilets in Ghana, providing access to safe and clean sanitation for those who currently do not have it. These facilities will be built and maintained by The Good Roll Foundation.

Since The Good Roll Foundation was founded in 2018, we have made great strides in our mission to improve lives through improved sanitation. To date, the foundation has successfully built 233 toilets, positively impacting the lives of 11,650 people. With a strong focus on schools, the foundation recognizes that children are the cornerstone of our future.

By focusing on building toilets in schools, The Good Roll Foundation is addressing a critical need. Lack of access to clean sanitation not only contributes to the spread of disease and illness, but also creates barriers to girls’ education. Without proper facilities, girls may struggle to attend school, especially during their menstrual cycle.

The Good Roll Foundation’s efforts extend beyond providing physical structures. They recognize that improved sanitation is key to fostering healthy communities and empowering individuals. By building toilets in schools, the foundation ensures that children have a safe and hygienic environment that allows them to focus on their education and thrive.
