The Good Roll Crowdfunding

To disrupt an industry is all about inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes and having fun.” The Good Roll is changing the global toilet paper market with a unique proposition; fair trade toilet paper made from bamboo, produced in our own factory in Ghana. With this, we are making a huge impact in Ghana in terms of employment and prosperity.

Over the past 4 years, The Good Roll has grown tremendously and we are extremely proud of what we have achieved, but our ambitions reach much further and that is why we have started a crowdfunding campaign.

Our goal is to become much bigger, so that we can make an even bigger difference for many people in Africa. The sale of our toilet rolls ensures that we can make an even bigger impact; socially, economically and ecologically. Because we really want to matter, really make a difference. If we achieve our goal – our Big Hairy Audacious Goal – we will generate extra income for tens of thousands of small farmers, we will offer direct and indirect employment to thousands of people, and we will improve the living conditions of hundreds of thousands of people, where they need it so much.

We experience daily that the demand for bamboo toilet paper is enormous and is increasing enormously. On the one hand, this is due to a sustainability idea. The consumer no longer accepts trees being cut down for paper production. Although this does result in a shift to recycled paper, it offers little relief. Because the online economy leads to more and more paper pulp - also recycled - going to the packaging industry for sending parcels. On the other hand, there is a business economics perspective. Because the recently increased price of gas and electricity leads to the production of paper pulp stagnating worldwide and increasing scarcity. So we really need to switch to an alternative. And we just happen to have that available! We have a product that is completely sustainable/more sustainable in terms of growth, felling and (re)use of the raw material, that is attractive(er) in terms of price and is also paper with a purpose !

Recent market developments and growing market demand support the realization of our objectives in terms of turnover, profit and impact. However, we need to further expand and strengthen our dedicated team. We need to further professionalize our organization and make our processes and systems even more robust. And in parallel, we need to make our brand better known to a broader target group; in the Netherlands and beyond. But, as stated in the introduction, that requires money.

So we're looking for money. Good money, because that's what The Good Roll is all about. That means money from people who also believe in ' fix the world and make money '. Money from people who believe in our mission to make the world a little better with a product that is made in a fair trade way from a sustainable raw material. And where part of the proceeds is donated to improving lives that are usually a lot less comfortable than ours. Your money?
