A Non-Boring Piece of History

Heinen Delfts Blauw was born out of Jaap Heinen's deep love for Chinese and Japanese Imari pottery. He started painting these styles as a hobby, but soon he delved into what would later become known as the iconic Delft Blue from the 16th century. Because Jaap became so good at his craft, he opened a studio in Putten where he further focused on designing, glazing and baking ceramics. Thanks to Jaap, we now think not only of bicycles and tulips when we think of the Netherlands, but also of Heinen Delfts Blauw.
