World Menstrual Hygiene Day x The Good Roll Foundation

Menstruation should never stand in the way of opportunity.

In Ghana, menstruation is still a major taboo. Thousands of girls miss school every month due to a lack of sanitary pads and safe facilities. They often use unhygienic alternatives such as old rags, paper, or even leaves, with all the associated health risks. Out of shame, they stay home, miss classes, and sometimes drop out of school entirely. One natural cycle puts their future at risk. That has to change.

What do we do?

At The Good Roll Foundation, we have been building clean toilets in various schools in Ghana for years. In the week leading up to May 28th – World Menstrual Health Day – we are putting extra effort into supporting girls. Together with local partners, we donate sanitary pads, provide education about menstruation, and ensure safe sanitary facilities. With every €5, you provide one girl with access to hygiene products and education for a month. In doing so, you provide not only protection, but also self-confidence and opportunities. We use every Euro raised to purchase the packages ourselves through our foundation, so we are 100% certain that everything ends up in the right place.

Your influence makes the difference

We are looking for impact makers with a voice – people like you. By drawing attention to this issue, you not only help create awareness, but you also activate others to help and donate. What can you do? Share the story during the week of May 21 - 27 via your social media. Create a social story (video/photo) that suits you and include the link to the campaign page where people can donate. This way, your reach becomes a real force for change.

Below are some examples for inspiration, but please feel free to tell this story from your own perspective. Here is the link to the donation page: https://donorbox.org/world-menstrual-health-day

  • Just imagine... you get your period and have to call in sick. Not once, but every month. Why? Because there are no sanitary pads. No toilet where you can change safely. No privacy. In Ghana, this is the reality for many girls. They miss school, fall behind, and sometimes stop learning altogether.

That is why I am participating in The Good Roll Foundation's campaign. For every €5, you give a girl a month's supply of sanitary pads, education, and a little bit of security. Help out. Donate. Share. Because having a period should never be a reason to lose opportunities.

  • Talking about menstruation is sometimes still a taboo in the Netherlands. But for girls in Ghana, it is a real disaster: no sanitary pads, no toilets, and it often means no school, either.

For World Menstrual Health Day, I am supporting The Good Roll Foundation. For every €5 donated, you provide a girl with a month's supply of sanitary pads, hygiene, and education. Donations are one-time only.

  • 3 out of 5 girls in Ghana miss school when they are on their period. Not because they are sick, but because there are no sanitary pads or toilets, and a large number even drop out of school entirely because of it.

For World Menstrual Health Day, I am supporting The Good Roll Foundation. They provide toilets, education, and hygiene kits. With a one-time donation of €5, you can help one girl. Really. Such a big difference for so little.
