Tips for a Sustainable Year
New Year’s Eve can have as much meaning as you want it to, and the feeling of a clean slate is something we can all use sometimes. To help you get started, we’ve put together a few not-too-lofty New Year’s resolutions and some fun tips.
Let's start easy peasy: cuddle more! We've been in contact with each other less this past year, so we have a lot of catching up to do in the new year. Did you know that cuddling not only reduces stress, but is also incredibly good for your self-confidence and heart health ? So get to work on that cuddling! Not a people person? Cuddle an animal! Our Pebbles is also known as the real cuddle collector.

Another sustainable product that we are fans of is Seepje. After all, washing your hands remains important, and by exchanging your standard soap products for a sustainable variant, you are already making more impact than you think. Seepje makes soap from natural products that would otherwise have been waste , such as orange peels from Albert Heijn. Seepje is available at Albert Heijn, Etos and Picnic, among others. You can also order their products via their website .

Kalsarikännit. Have you ever heard of this? Maybe you already do it without even knowing it. Kalsarikännit is a Finnish expression for sitting on the couch in your underwear with an alcoholic drink , without the intention of going out, aka our favorite corona activity. It is not necessarily something you should make a daily activity of, but according to the Finns it can do no harm at all and is even good for you, or so to speak 'self-care ' to schedule such an evening every now and then. So let's not forget, when we are back in our busy lives, to also have a nice kalsarikännit sometimes.

Besides corona, one of the biggest burdens of this time is the addiction we all have to our phones and how easily we get distracted by it. A good intention that you may have already had is to try to keep this (a little) under control, so that it does not get in the way of your work and other things you want to do. The book 'indistractable' by Nir Eyal can help you with this. He focuses not so much on how bad it is that our gadgets have been made so addictive, but more on how we can control how we deal with this. The book is available here .
