When you buy toilet paper from The Good Roll, you support our mission: safe and clean toilets for everyone.
Together with the partners of Stichting Simavi, we invest 50% of the net profit of The Good Roll in the installation of safe toilets in East Africa. Access to a safe toilet is not only important in your own home; to improve basic health, safe toilets must also be available in public places, such as schools. By installing these toilets and spreading knowledge about hygiene, life-threatening diseases are prevented and children can go to school safely. This way they can develop and break out of the vicious circle of poverty.
From the moment we sell our first toilet paper, we support the WASH and Learn projects of Stichting Simavi. Together with the partners of Stichting Simavi and local partner HEWASA, we start in Kabarole district in Uganda to realize safe toilets at the St John's Nsongya Primary School. Before the start of the projects, hygiene and access to toilets were very poor. Together with our local partners, we stimulate local communities to build their own toilets and sinks. We provide information about hygiene and train villagers to become maintenance mechanics.
In this way, we work together to ensure a sustainable result.
